Technical Skills- Shutter Speed

Shutter speed is mainly and only the length of time for which the camera shutter is open and it’s ‘taking the picture’. Using this feature of the camera mostly depends on the motion which is or isn’t going on in your picture. For example, if the artist wants to capture the bird in the sky on his photo, he has to use the very fast shutter speed to ‘freeze’ the bird and prevent picture being blurry. However, you can also use slow shutter speed to capture motion in a unique way, for example cars.

Peter Wienerroither

Wienerroither is a professional 'high-speed' photographer, he is including every detail of the subject on his pictures, this is always glass or water. I noticed that Wienerroither is often using a black background to make the viewer see every piece of the important objects. His pictures are 'freezing' in time events which are normally happening fast, by just looking at his work you can hear the sounds related to those events. His use of the fast shutter speed and perspective are the key skills which Peter Wienerroither decisively have.

Jasper Nance

Nance is one of not only the best 'high-speed' photographers but also, she is one of the most creative and skilful artists. Her unique ideas to take a good photo are one of the best ones among the shutter speed photographers community. It's remarkable that she is often making a good use from the colours on her pictures. Moreover, her photographs are always froze in the perfect moment in time, with a good perspective and colours, these photographs are extremely satisfying and interesting just by looking at them.

My photoshoot

To take this picture I used a shutter speed of 1/128 sec and I'm satisfied with the result. I've chosen perspective of this picture for purpose; dark trees in the background are well separating from the sky behind them because of different tones. Moreover, the fire is very good subject to make the picture climatic and special because of different tones and colours of the flame. All of those reasons made me decide to do not experiment with the picture, I mainly wanted to keep all the colours natural.
