Abstract
Abstract is the type of photography which is very special because the artist doesn’t take the picture of normal, everyday life subject. Instead, the photographers are trying to capture unusual objects with different and abstract shapes and colours. This type of photography is in my opinion very good to make the viewers feel good or bad just by looking at the photo. Moreover, abstract photography is bringing more and more attention around the world because people can look at something which they don’t see on everyday life.
Matthieu Venot
Matthieu Venot is a French photographer, one of the famous and most skilled artist in the abstract genre. He is normally taking pictures of the unusual shapes and buildings in the urban environment, by using his great ideas, he is making an unique and high quality work. What I noticed, and also what I found out on his web-page is that Venot is always trying to focus on the single part rather than whole, which is in my opinion a good idea. Moreover, his pictures are often colourful which makes them positive.
Eileen Quinlan
Quinlan (1973) born in Boston, is a very professional abstract photographer with probably one of the most unique ideas that I have ever seen. On her work, she is including all types of shapes and colours which you don't see/not paying attention to in everyday life.
I really like this picture as well as the experiments I've done to it, there is a clear mix of pattern, shadows and shapes going along with abstract colours and tones. First thing I did, was experimenting with exposure and lighting, I wanted to make the picture darker, more mysterious before my next step which was using curves to balance the tones (Mainly because bottom left corner was too bright). I then went to the most important part of my experiment which was balancing the intensity of colours, my target was to make the light look like a fire or some weather anomalies, that's why as a result, I came up with a bright orange colour which in my opinion looks incredible, unusual and abstract.
